May 24 Worship Guide
God calls us to Worship. Worship is a right response to who God is and what he has done. All worship begins with God as he calls us to Himself. Therefore we join our voices with all the saints and angels and the whole creation to proclaim the glory of His name.
Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” —Revelation 4:11
Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” —Revelation 5:9–10
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing! To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” —Revelation 5:12-13
I invite you to ask and answer these questions out loud, and be very honest as you do so:
Have you sinned against the Lord this week? [Yes]
Have you gone astray from his Word? [Yes]
Have you done that which is wrong in his sight? [Yes]
But is God willing to forgive you again? [Yes]
Did Jesus pay the penalty of your sin in full? [Yes]
Do you now reject your sins and reaffirm your trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ which is your righteousness? [Yes]
Then brothers and sisters, hear this Word of the Lord and rest in this truth: “As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:11–12).
If you are in Christ, be assured that God forgives you completely. Praise the Lord!
“When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Ps. 34:17–18)
BRING UP PRAYER REQUESTS FOR THOSE YOU ARE GATHERED WITH AND PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER.
BRING UP PRAYER REQUESTS FOR THOSE IN THE CHURCH AND COMMUNITY AND PRAY FOR THEM.
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
